Community and Charitable Involvement

As an office we have participated in a number of local events which helps raise money for a variety of charities:

Kingston’s Womens Expo and Hudson Bay Company Gala which raises money for local women’s health initiatives

CNIB Night Steps which raises money for the low or partially sighted

United Way Fare for Friends corporate sponsorship and silent auction

Our Christmas campaigns each year supporting the Partners in Mission Food Bank, Fly FM Toy Drive, Family & Children’s Services of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington gifts for foster children

Our annual Frame Show & Sale supports a local charity each year: last year we donated to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research at Sunnybrook Hospital, this year to the Kingston General Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

 

We also enjoy participating in events promoting local businesses including:

United Way Success by Six

KEBA Party in the Park, promoting Kingston east end businesses

Queen’s University ASUS Sidewalk Sale

 

In addition as an office we:

Sponsor a local recreational men’s hockey team

Have performed vision screenings at a local Montessori school

Have acted as the regional lead for Eye See…Eye Learn, a program that provides a complimentary pair of eye wear to any junior kindergarten child who requires them; both myself and Dr. Tiffany Nazareth have acted as regional lead since Kingston was included in the program

Have provided public education on Fly FM regarding eye care for the whole family
